Margaret Sherry is a uniquely talented illustrator who has created the most beloved and cute range of characters loved the world over. Her beautiful designs have been licenced to countless products throughout her career mainly greetings cards, embroidery kits, rubber stamps and kitchenware. 

 

She truly mastered the unique ability to imprint emotion and humour within the fine detail of her characters. This coupled with her strive for perfection and focus to succeed has created the world-renowned brand that is, The Margaret Sherry Collection. 

 

As a post WWII baby Margaret would use her artistic talent to create toys and games. She loved school and learning, one of her favourite creations was drawing a classroom and cut out pupils that she could create stories with. When she left school she studied illustration at university, believing she would pursue a career in medical illustration, but with the advances in photography she realised this would not be possible. Margaret adapted her talents to book illustration, product design, avertising, and cute animal characters. I feel her works resonates with so many of us as she was able to create a character with the perfect expression to express exactly how we all feel sometime.

In 2018 the world lost Margaret, but before her untimely passing she bestowed to me, her daughter, her greatest legacy the company and all her artwork. Shortly after her death I shared the tragic news publicly, I never expected the imence outpouring of grief and sympathy from her fans. I do not truly believe that either Margaret nor myself had any idea how loved she was and by so many, this has become a great source of comfort to me and I pledge to continue to produce her designs for all her fans new and old.
